Librarian blogs and Tumblr

I chose http://flowreader.com/home because it was first and most important free. It also “Read your feeds along with your full Facebook and Twitter timelines in one app—then share the best content you find everywhere to Buffer, Tumblr, and more.” Which I liked because I am using Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr this will make it very convenient for me to utilize and find information for my library.

This is the best blog ever! “A Media Specialists Guide to the Internet.” I have been looking at it and find it to be very resourceful because it has everything I would like to know about technology in schools. I just saw a mini video about a flip classroom along with resources that can help me as educator to make it happen. It also has post on how your student can tell if a website is trustworthy. It even has information on how to do book displays. It has information and YouTube videos on how the library is changing for the future. http://mediaspecialistsguide.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2016-01-21T06:14:00-08:00&max-results=7

Another I found useful because it led me to other places I can find more information it was. http://bellbulldogreaders.edublogs.org/ It has on her school’s students projects then it went on the Dewey system idea she is adopting for her library. The article is called “A 2016 facelift for Dewey.” It has pictures and instruction on how she did it as well as a website to where she got the idea. She gave the link from where she was getting ideas for her library change at https://awrinkleintech.wordpress.com/.

Try Curiosity blog http://trycuriosity.blogspot.com/2013/05/mammals-dewey-do-over.html is another one I found very informative on the Dewey system. She gave some examples and pictures of how it works in her library. The article was called “Mammals: A Dewey "Do-over"”. I also loved her article on “Grade 3: Guiding Question - How can we read a poem with expression and show our understanding of rhyme and rhythm?” Where she gives information a rhyme and rhythm of poems and has a short video of a 3rd grader reading a poem with expression. It was very enjoyable to watch.

There this one called http://e-literatelibrarian.blogspot.com/2010/10/electronic-gadget-petting-

zoo.html. It gives ideas and one of the ideas is having an electronic gadget petting zoo. Where the teachers come to the library and familiarize themselves with the technology and see if they can utilize it at their classrooms. It also has other ideas but this one I just loved. I already imagine myself doing this in my future library.

Last but not least is http://www.mightylittlelibrarian.com/. Where I found ideas on how to decorate your library walls with library quotes also how to use Google Hangouts where students talk to their favorite book authors. She had Blackout Poetry where she weeded books, cut out the pages, and gave students markers and pens for to create and design their poems, and made a video it look awesome.

Why are librarians using Tumblr they are connecting with each other and giving ideas and finding new things to implement in their library? Their conversation is more meaningful because they can talk about anything in their mind and it can make a difference to a librarian who is starting off in her/his career. What so great is that a person from Texas can post a question and someone from another state like Hawaii can answer in a short time. All because of Tumblarian community that is more like a city filled with people who help each other with knowledge and expertise in the field of librarian. This is my Tumbler account.
